aloha

hola mi amigas,

it is necessary to inform you jack was epic. so amazing. jack sang and played his guitar and ukulele while i danced and twirled around the grass with a giant smile on my face. he is by far the most romantic man i have ever heard of/seen anywhere. not to mention, the most astonishing encore, EVER. i seriously cried when he sang angel. ugh, melt my heart.
g. love was also on his game that thursday evening, and i must say, s.r. gets the bf of the week award. i knew something was odd
when he didn't return from the restroom for at least 45 min. when he finally came back to the show, poster rolled in hand, he blurted "sorry it took me so long i was hanging out with g. love." no lie. the pristine souvenir read "to jessica, love g. love." :):):):):):):) & a few <3
in other news, we threw a going away party at our house last night for brendal. she will most definitely be missed by many. it was a great success. many friends attended throughout the night. we had plenty of yummy snacks, drinks flowing like the nile, music in our
r ears both outside and in, corn hole, and last but certainly not least beer pong. :) aloha brendal.

music is the language of us all

after attending saturdays concert i began reflecting on the numerous shows i have spectated this year alone.

here is my list...
1. phish (miami and ny)
2. damien marley (west palm)
3. ben harper (west palm)
4. g. love and special sauce (ft. lauderdale)
5. the heavy pets (NUMEROUS times...key west, ft. lau
derdale, west palm and boca)
6. spam allstars ( west palm)
7. perpetual groove(west palm)
8. slightly stoopid (boca)
there may be more i just can't think of at the moment but i feel privileged.

not to mention thursday i will be seeing animal liberation orchestra, g. love (once again!), and JACK JOHNSON!!!
yayyyy
i have been craving his live music for quite some time and thought my chances were over when i heard last year he had done his last tour. psh, this false information just enabled me to become more enthused about seeing him than i would have already been.
whoop whoooop.

i just saw the new julia roberts movie, eat pray love. i actually thoroughly enjoyed it. it made my desire to travel, eat yummy food, and sip delicious wine even heavier.

i would insert a photo of bali here but my computer is being lame.

"Nothing can bring you peace but yourself."

so i have given some recent thought to peace and why it is so important to me...

peace should be the main root to be planted in everyone s life. it is the result of the solution of inner conflicts, on a global scale. global peace in fact can't be achieved without the efforts of all human beings, determined to direct their lives toward more than personal goals.
the promotion of human rights is also at the basis of the achievement of peace; the awareness of the potential and value of life is the first thing to get, in order to respect the other ones. individuals all over the world should take responsibility for their lives and contribute to building a world where people of different cultures and faiths can live in peace. SHOULD being the key word here. human spirit should be transformed and trained into a culture of non-violence. the inner change, the human revolution is the key to stimulate contributive action and compassion of people within their communities, families and friends. that 's the way we could build peace, and though it may be a long shot, the unity of intentions, spirit and the common respect of everyone 's life, may be the simple answer to universal harmony.
just sayin.

and for some reason blogger is messing up my fonts today. ew.

i dream you dream

we all dream for an ice dream?

speaking of ice dream... i have given up meat again which means ONLY ice dreams and waffle fries for me at cfa! i must admit that no cfa was one of my most difficult challenges last time i went sans meat.

as i sit here at the kitchen table, daydreaming about the future, i picture myself accomplished and established enough to travel the world. that is my ultimate aspiration. i wish to backpack through paris just to take some rad photographs then journey to new zealand for some diving and then roam to italy && eat the most scrumptious meal ever imagined... and so on and so forth.
ahhh, that will be the day.

on that note, the life i am currently leading is not going to get me there. i am going to have to make some serious commitments to change. i need to work A LOT, and SAVE SAVE SAVE while i am in school. the day i am able to say i completed my degree is the day i can hopefully begin putting some of this knowledge to good use.

i have said before i would do anything to be a successful photographer but for now i will just continue to take pictures for my own pleasure. LOTS of pictures. who knows, maybe some day someone important will see them and say THESE PHOTOS ARE WORTH A LOT OF MONEY. :)

the search continues

Well, here I sit, on the couch wondering if I will get the job. No, not at the restaurant I applied to and had an interview for, but for the Aveda Institute in Davie. I applied for admissions manager solely because that is what they are hiring for. This is a job I think I could be passionate about though. It is one with all of the beliefs that I have lived with and practiced the last few years. As an Aveda graduate I am THINKING and HOPING it will at least get my foot in the door for an interview. The previously mentioned restaurant didn't go as I had hoped but I think there is a reason for that.
Maybe I shouldn't be voicing all of my inquiries but I guess that would only matters if I were superstitious and today I am not.

So, I shall keep you (and by you I mean all the thousands of people whom I know read this ;) ) updated.
In the mean time I sit twittling my thumbs.
